PSHE & RSE

At Smarden Primary School, Personal, Social, Health Education (PSHE) is at the heart of our curriculum. It forms an integral part of our Discover, Explore and Create projects and is taught discretely for at least one hour every week.

We follow 'Jigsaw' at Smarden which is a whole-school approach to teaching PSHE and covers all areas of PSHE for the primary phase including statutory Relationships and Health Education. It teaches PSHE knowledge and skills in a developmental and age-appropriate way.

Learning is reinforced and enhanced in many ways including our weekly Jigsaw assembly, weekly Jigsaw celebrations and our Smarden Learning Charter.

We aim to 'live' what is learnt and apply it to everyday situations in the school community.
